Mid 2020, as the world was caught off guard by covid-19, I received a phone call that would change my life forever. A voice said “Greg, your mother was attacked and is in the hospital”. I rushed to the hospital and found my mother covered in blood from head to toe. She had broken bones, burn marks, and lacerations everywhere. It had been some time since we had last spoken, so I had no idea what was going on. I found out that she was down on her luck and ended up homeless.
