Pivoting

8/27/2023

Since the beginning of the year (2023) I have been reading a book every week and writing reviews. However, one of the books I recently read has influenced me to give up... no, pivot into something more beneficial to my future. The book is called 6 months to 6 figures and aside from the name it's very interesting. Peter Voogd is a young entrepreneur, on the rise, and chapter two of his book struck a cord. He discusses overload vs. mastery. For example, I was reading a book every week but not retaining the information which he explains as overloading. Although I was learning a lot, I was probably only soaking up 10% of what I was reading and didn't have enough time to go back and re-read what I missed. So, instead of reading 52 books a year, the goal is to read 6-12 going forward. If I read the same book 1-3 times, I feel like I'll have a better chance at mastering the book. The goal is to understand each chapter so well that I could teach it to someone.
Furthermore, I plan to read books that align with my current goals. It doesn't make sense to read books about gardening or hockey when none of my goals involve either topic. The next book on my list is "92 Tricks To Talk To Anyone" because talking to people is my job. This directly aligns with me and what my current goal is; to be a better salesmen and leader.

6 Months To 6 Figures by Peter Voogd

Peter Voogd is a millennial entrepreneur, public speaker, and author that is on a mission to positively influence the younger generations and help teach them how to achieve their goals. "6 Months To 6 Figures" covers an array of topics that will help anyone, especially the younger generations, increase productivity and living intentional. One of my favorite quotes in this book was that "nothing tastes as good as health feels". Sure, eating healthy may not taste as good as eating junk food but it allows your body and mind to operate on a higher level which should be more important.

The strategies in this book can help you increase income, become more productive, manage time, and in turn create the lifestyle and legacy that you desire. I can't imagine why a person wouldn't want to read a book like this. If mastered, it has the capability of not only changing your life but the life of your family, friends, and future generations. Do everyone a favor by changing your life for the better. Live a life of fulfillment, passion, and energy. I'll see you on the other side... the successful one.
