50 Things To Do In GR Before You Die
(Part 4 of 5)
Grand Rapids is small to some people and big to others. However, I think we can all agree that GR offers things to do for all people no matter what your interests are. I'll be listing 50 things to do in Grand Rapids that may interest you. Each article will list 10 new options. This is part 4 of 5 (#'s 31-40).
31. Duckpin Bowling
Located inside the Amway Grand Plaza is Woodrows Duckpin Bowling. Duckpin bowling has  similarities with traditional bowling but it's a completely different game. The Pins and balls are smaller. There are no finger holes in duckpin bowling balls and the lanes are shorter. There's also a bar located in the facility which allows for a fun night of drinking and trying a new sport. Lanes are often booked, so call ahead and reserve a lane to guarantee your spot.

32. The Aroma Labs
The next time someone asks you what brand of cologne or perfume you're wearing, answer with "My own!". The Aroma Labs allows you to create your own signature scent in order to stand out from the crowd. It seems like everything these days is customizable. Why should the way you smell be any different?
33. GR Tours
Get to know Grand Rapids a little bit better by going on a guided tour. Tours Around Michigan offers tours on history, art, ghosts, churches, the riverfront, and even virtual tours. For you runners out there, enjoy a running tour with Grand Rapids Running Tours. Are you a crime lover? Well, GR Crime Tours offers just the one for you. If you want to skip being guided and do it yourself, download the GRWalks app and get an audio tour while you walk around the city by yourself. These are just a few of the many tour options in Grand Rapids.
34. Rooftop Bars
Grand Rapids is home to some rooftop bars with a great view. Three of them that I have been to are Knoop Rooftop Beer Garden, Mertens Rooftop, and IDC. Each one serves up a different perspective of the city and an array of specialty drinks.

35. Axe Throwing
Recently, axe throwing has popped up in a lot of cities. Downtown Grand Rapids has FlannelJax's. Northern Grand Rapids has Wood-Splitters and BattleGR Tactical Games which also has laser & archery tag, esports, and more. Get out and try something new!
36. Gluten Free
As gluten research gets more advanced, more and more people like myself are finding out they either have a gluten intolerance or Celiac disease. Brewery Nyx is a gluten free brewery. Papa Chops is  gluten free fast food restaurant. Rise Authentic is a gluten free bakery. More and more gluten free options are popping up as well as existing businesses offering gluten free alternatives. Find more gluten free options in Grand Rapids, Michigan at Find Me Gluten Free.

37. Escape Room
Escape Rooms are a way for you and your friends to work together towards a combined goal and have fun doing it. I failed at escaping from The Great Escape Room. See if you can do better! Grand Rapids Escape Room and Locked360 are two more popular escape rooms in Grand Rapids. Grab your smartest friends and try to crack to code.
38. Rapid City Football Club
The Grand Rapids FC has ceased to exist since 2021 but that's OK because Rapid City FC has taken over. As of writing this article, the team has won their only game and the future looks bright. Help support this new GR soccer team by attending a game.
39. Break Room
Break Room Therapy is West Michigan's original rage room. You're able to select from a wide range of items then let loose and destroy them. All sessions are done by appointment. So, if you have the thirst for destruction, schedule your visit today.
40. Hit the Mall
Grand Raids is the home to a few large shopping malls. Rivertown Crossings and Woodland Mall are classic malls housing many stores that are all located in one large building. Tanger Outlets, on the other hand, has a bunch of outlet stores all within a short walking distance from each other. There are also shopping districts all over the city if you're looking for something even closer to your home. See you out there!
