Broadway GR presents: Dear Evan Hansen

Again, I found my way to a Broadway Grand Rapids show. My cousin is a huge broadway fan, so we made our way to the DeVos Performance Hall to see what all the fuss was about. I didn't expect to like the show that much because I heard that is was more for the younger generation. However, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Meghan Distel, president and CEO of Broadway GR, said it perfectly, "Dear Evan Hansen has put mental health awareness in the spotlight and helped to remind hundreds of thousands of people that they are not alone - an impactful, powerful, and very important message". This performance does just that. I saw emotional people in the crowd, throughout the show, and felt emotional myself at times. I don't want to give too much of the show away, so go see it yourself. It will be in Grand Rapids until the 8th.
