50 Things To Do In Grand Rapids Before You Die
(Part 1 of 5)

Grand Rapids is small to some people and big to others. However, I think we can all agree that GR offers things to do for all types of people. I'll be listing 50 things to do in Grand Rapids that may interest you. Each article will list 10 new options. Enjoy!
1. See a concert at The Intersection
Since 1972, the Intersection has been hosted live music. The building, located downtown Grand Rapids, has five sections; The Elevation, The Stache, The Intersection, The Mint and Rock The Lot. Every week there is live music of all genres, which allows the entire city of GR to enjoy the venue. Learn more about the Intersection HERE.
2. Get a wet burrito where it was invented (Beltline Bar)
People don't often believe me when I tell them the wet burrito was invented in Grand Rapids, Michigan. However, a simple google search will prove me right. I found this out randomly watching a cooking show and had to fact check what I heard. When you walk in to the Beltline Bar you will see a plaque that states that they indeed invented the popular dish. They've won many awards in GR for the food quality. Learn more HERE.
3. Attend a Grand Rapids Gold game
The Grand Rapids Gold are the G League affiliate basketball team to the NBA's, Denver Nuggets. They currently play at the Van Andel Arena from November to March. Notable players such as Isaiah Thomas and Lance Stephensen have come through the team before heading to the NBA. The games are great for people of all ages. Learn more HERE.
4. Visit Lookout Park
Lookout Park is a park, located in Northeast Grand Rapids. It sits at the top of a big hill that overlooks a portion of the city. It has recently been remodeled to comfortably sit many small groups of people, providing them with an awesome view. Small gatherings including Yoga or HIT classes are often found there in the Summer months.

The Gerald R. Ford Museum is the presidential museum and burial place the 38th president of the United States, Gerald Ford. It displays some of the rich history that we have here in Grand Rapids, Michigan. 7. Attend a Broadway GR show
BroadwayGR brings the best of Broadway to the DeVos Performance Hall. Since 1988, they have been putting on the best traveling broadway productions. I was recently blown away when seeing Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen. There isn't a bad seat in the entire venue which allows people with any budget to see a show. Learn more HERE.
8. Take an electric scooter or bike for a ride downtown
Recently, electric scooters and bikes have hit the scene in GR. It seems like you can't go anywhere without seeing the red and black Spin brand or the green and white Lime brand electric transportation devices. They are a great way to get around the city at an affordable price. All you have to do is download the app, import your information then ride.
9. Kayaking at Millennium Park
Millenum Park offers an array of outdoor activities like walking or biking trails, basketball, swimming and more recently, kayaking. There are kayaks already there that can be rented at an affordable price. It's a great way to spend a hot Summer day with family or friends. Learn more HERE.

10. Go to Breakaway Festival at Belknap Park
Belknap Park was always known for playing baseball, getting a cool view of GR or sledding when I grew up but now it's also known for a growing music festival called Breakaway Festival. Next time August comes around, don't miss it. Some of the most popular artists in the world will be there. Learn more HERE.
